We use the top waterfowl gear money can buy! Period. You are paying for a
trip of a lifetime, so why not have the best gear to work along side you.
Each piece of equipment is without question the best gear available today.
I am on the Prostaff for all of the gear we use. As such I give
feedback to each company on how to tweak their products to make my my
clients more comfortable and successful and to make my job easier in the
field. I tried everything on the market, and decided upon what I think
is the best, most realistic, toughest gear made in the world today. I
could use cheaper gear, but when people come up and spend a few days with
us, I want them going home completely satisfied, knowing that we did
everything possible to give them their hunt of a lifetime.
Dave Smith Decoys
– unparalleled
realism. Unquestionably the most realistic goose decoy on the market. If a
real bird lands in the spread of DSD's, and you look away to see another
group of incoming, when you look back, you won’t be able to tell which goose
is the real one. Watch how even in late season, geese will come in feet
first without flaring, and still land in the decoys after 4 months of
being hunted. Not cheap, but worth the investment over a lifetime
successful hunts
Taylor Decoys
– The
best cork decoys money can buy. Clint Taylor has been winning competitions
all over the USA for his wooden and cork birds, watch how late season ducks
drop out of the sky without a care in the world. An investment that
will work hard for you in the field year after year after year, and last
long enough to pass down and watch your grandkids hunt over the same decoys
as you.
Foiles Migrators – The best acrylic and polycarbonate calls on the market. Champion
Calls of not only the calling stage, but of grain fields and flooded
timber the world over. We have all sorts of hand tuned calls from the
original industry leading Straight Meat Honker, to Foiles Duck and snow
goose calls to handle any situation. Easy to blow, and makes the most
realistic goose and down and dirty duck calls. Try some of our calls
when you are hunting with us.
Final Approach
Blinds and Accessories – the originators of the lay down blind. The most
comfortable blinds on the market with blinds that can accommodate Big NFL
players, right down to super low profile blinds for those sunny late season
days. They keep you warm and out of the elements, and most important,
concealed from those wary birds eyes.
Drake Waterfowl
-
the best waterfowl clothing on the market. Jackets, Waders, Pants, and
bags. Tough, waterproof, and engineered for function and breathability.
When you are trudging through knee deep mud and pushing through sharp
underbrush on a cold day, this gear will keep you dry and protected.
Benelli
Shotguns –
Simply the Best. The name is legendary and speaks for
itself. An Inertia Driven Auto as opposed to a gas driven auto.
In wet waterfowl situations, the Inertia Driven system doesn't blow back
dirt and grime that mucks up the action. The term jam will be
something you here your buddy say as you shoot 3 birds in rapid succession. The best autoloader in the world.
Hevishot - Hevi-shot goose,
duck, or dead coyote will fold birds with one trigger pull out to 70 yards.
Make 3 birds
per group the norm instead of just something you watch on the videos.
Hevi-shot sets the bar for heavier than lead ammo.
All they make is ammunition, that's why the're so good at it. They even
make hevi-steel for the more economical choice that is 20% denser than
normal premium steel. A great way to save
some money is to load your chamber and first round with hevi-steel, and the
last shot with hevi-shot for extra stopping power in that last and usually
further shot.
The best advice that we can give about buying your own gear is to by the
best you can afford. Waterfowling is not a cheap sport, but when you
buy good gear and take care of it - you buy it once. Good quality gear
works well all the time, and will be there waiting for you every fall.
Cheap gear never works properly, and breaks or stops looking good after only
a season or two. In the long run, you will pay more and kill less
geese with cheap gear. Buy a little every year, it gives you pride of
ownership and gives you some off season fun deciding what to order for next
year. (-:
